Pointe Coupee Parish hosts first sugarcane field day of 2023

A group of more than 100 sugarcane growers, LSU AgCenter researchers and other interested parties assembled at Joby Beaud’s barn in the LaBarre community north of New Roads to hear the latest about new cane variety developments, weed control and other topics. More information on the summer meetings of interest to the Louisiana sugarcane industry can be found at the LSU Agcenter calendar link HERE.

Grower Gert Hawkins asked the gathered farmers to register their loading sites with the 911 emergency services agency in their home communities. A link for a registration form can be found HERE.
