League congratulates new Louisiana congressional members
The American Sugar Cane League congratulated Julia Letlow and Troy Carter on their election to the United States Congress.
Letlow won the March 20 special election of Louisiana’s 5th Congressional District. Carter won the April 24 runoff for the 6th Congressional District.
Letlow, who will serve on the House Committee on Agriculture, won the congressional seat her late husband Luke Letlow won in December 2020 before passing way from COVID-19 complications. Carter won the seat vacated by Cedric Richmond, who took a position with President Joe Biden’s administration.
